Newer Apple devices dropped the headphone jack, so this is what bridges the gap between your device and a standard 3.5mm audio cable. It’s handy if you’re playing a ceremony playlist or a speech track off your own device. If your device still uses a Lightning port, grab the Lightning version instead.
