Description

The Electro-Voice ZLX 15P is a 1,000-watt speaker that sounds great on its own as a main or a monitor for medium-to-large-sized events. EQ the Electro-Voice ZLX 15P speaker quickly and easily with its built-in preset Application Modes: Club, Live, Monitor, and Speech.

For most applications, PLAY rates a pair of Electro-Voice ZLX 15P speakers for events with up to ~200 guests in attendance.

Can I connect a phone, tablet, or laptop up to the EV ZLX 15P?
Yes, but you will need to include either a 3.5 mm to XLR cable or 1/8″ to 1/8″ cable to do so.

Would the EV ZLX 15P make for a great standalone PA System?
Yes! If you just need something basic, add an Ultimate Support Speaker Stand, a 3.5mm to XLR Cable, a power extension cord, a 15′ XLR Cable, and a Shure SM58 microphone for a simple, easy-to-setup PA system for small events! Or add a second XLR cable and “daisy-chain” a second EV ZLX 15P for even wider coverage!

Tony’s Take

For the longest time, the Mackie SRM-450 was the industry-standard PA speaker for most events. But once I heard the EV ZLX line, I immediately replaced every Mackie speaker in our inventory with the ZLX line. This speaker has crystal-clear sound, it’s light, it allows for multiple inputs, the built-in EQ makes it easy to get great sound out of most environments and applications, and most importantly of all, it has a built-in limiter, making it very tough to overpower the speaker.

I use these speakers at least once a week. When it comes to budget-friendly speakers, this is best speaker I’ve found in that category.
