An XLR cable transmits audio from a mixing board to a speaker, or from one speaker to another speaker. As Tony likes to say, “You can never have enough XLR cables!”

If my speakers are 25 feet apart, all I need is one 25′ XLR cable, correct?
This would be correct if the XLR cable run is a straight line from speaker to speaker. However, when speaker stands are added to the equation, you actually need more than 25 feet to connect the speakers! Since the speakers are likely 6 feet off the ground, you would need a 50-foot XLR cable to make the run!
