The Behringer X Air XR12 is a compact digital mixer that allows users to mix and master their sound from anywhere! Controlled via Wi-Fi by tablets or laptops running the mixer’s app, this stage box allows for up to four microphones and 8 line-level inputs and has a plethora of built-in effects. Best of all, bring a USB thumb drive and easily record your event with the in-app recording feature.

This mixer is great for events with prominent speeches, small bands, up to four-person panels, and more!

How do I control and configure this mixer?
All X Air series mixers are designed to be configured and controlled via the Behringer X Air app on a smart device or computer.

Is an iPad included?
Nope. You may choose to rent one of our iPads if you do not have one available. We recommend the iPad Pro models for best performance.

Where do I get the app to use for the Behringer XR12?
Click here to download Behringer’s free app – X-Air – for use with the XR12.

Can I use an Android tablet?
Yes, you can. Unfortunately, we do not have any Android devices available for rent.

Do I need a wireless router?
For any Behringer X Air series mixer, we strongly recommend it. You can use the built-in wi-fi router, but we have found its range limited. Please consider renting one of our wireless routers, if you do not have a router readily available.

Can I plug headphones into this mixer?
Yes, this mixer has a 1/4″ input for monitoring your mix via headphones.

Can I rackmount this mixer?
No, as we don’t include the rack ears required to mount this mixer.

Tony’s Take

When it comes to digital mixers, you will note that PLAY carries both Behringer and Mackie. And honestly, it comes down to preference. For me, I prefer the Behringer X-Air over the Mackie DL mixers because the interface makes more sense to me. But I can easily mix a show with a DL mixer, as well. Either option will give you great sound, and there is nothing better than having a very compact mixer – with every effect I need – that can be controlled from over 100 feet away. It makes sound checks easy – and allowing each member of the band to control their own monitor mix via iPad? That’s a stroke of genius right there.

The only downside? Hot summer days and iPads can be problematic. So make sure you keep that iPad out of direct sunlight!
